Lesson 11 - Seasons
In this lesson, students will examine why we have seasons here on Earth. The Sun’s energy output is for the most part constant, so why do we have such a variation in temperature between January and July? The Earth’s orbit is slightly elliptical, so there are times when the Earth is farther away from the Sun, but the main reason for the seasons is the tilt of the Earth’s axis of rotation. This lesson will explain why.
